Seth Rogen in “50/50”
A flare for stand-up comedy came at an early age for the Vancouver-born Seth Rogen – as early as the age of 13. Moving to Los Angeles a few years later, Rogen came under the wing of Judd Apatow and has been a disciple ever since. Now, Seth is a fledgling member of the Frat Pack, acting as well as writing and producing. Sweet-natured raunchy comedies that turn out to be huge hits are a Seth Rogen staple – as “Knocked Up” has shown. He has the charm that audiences like, and a growing audience waiting for more.
Apatow brought Seth on to his two short-lived television series “Freaks and Geeks” and “Undeclared” to prep Seth for the big time. Soon enough, Seth showed up in “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” a major role in “The 40 Year Old Virgin,” which he co-produced, and “You, Me, and Dupree.” His status reached new heights as the slacker Ben Stone in “Knocked Up.” He was a staff writer for “Da Ali G Show” and is the co-writer and executive producer of “Superbad.” His comedic persona is taking Hollywood by storm, and a whole new slew of comedies are headed our way. The more clout Seth gains, the further he promises to push the envelope.
