"What's That You Say" jumps out of your speakers with Cheap Trick-like guitars and instant radio flavor. "Lucy" is everything a power-pop classic should be, complete with "doo-wop" background vocals and soaring guitars. Similarly, "Beautiful" and "Everybody Knows Everything" are such immediate toe-tappers that it won't take multiple spins through this disc to get hooked. The first single, "Party Like A Rock Star," will have you humming the bass line from Steve Miller Band's "The Joker" while surely leaving this most catchy chorus burned into your memory from the first listen. The profanity-laden "Shut Up" is proof that these underrated So Cal rockers have even remained below Tipper Gore's pesky radar…no Parental Advisory warning label here! Frontman and lyricist Steve Summers manages to compose the simplest of lyrics and lay them against potent and catchy guitar rhythms. The result is a record chock full of fun and frivolous summertime rock anthems. The album cover alone will temp you to buy Get A Taste, but it's the delightful upbeat rock and roll creations that will have you playing this record long after the summer months end. ~Red Rocker
